* These are NTA percentile scores, not raw marks. Top 2,50,000 candidates qualify for JEE Advanced.

Percentile, not percentage: The cutoff values are NTA percentile scores — not raw marks out of 300.

Both sessions considered: The best NTA score across Session 1 and Session 2 is used for merit ranking.

2,50,000 seats: Exactly 2,50,000 candidates qualify for JEE Advanced, distributed across categories per reservation policy.

Cutoff for NIT/IIIT Admission (JoSAA)

NIT and IIIT admission is done through JoSAA counselling using your JEE Mains All India Rank (AIR). Unlike JEE Advanced qualification, there is no single cutoff — each NIT/IIIT/GFTI has its own opening and closing ranks per branch and category.

Closing ranks for top NITs (e.g. NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal) for CSE in General category typically fall between 500 and 3,000 AIR, while ECE ranges from 2,000 to 6,000 AIR. OBC-NCL, SC, and ST categories have significantly lower rank cutoffs.

For complete institute and branch-wise JoSAA cutoff data, visit the official JoSAA portal or see our NIT Cutoff page.
